Myshkin averaged 300 gigs a year, all over the world, during her decade in New Orleans, while living immersed in the history of American music being performed all over town.
After moving to Oregon in 2002, she was still on freeways and autobahns most of the year. Playing her music solo, duo, trio or full band. Sometimes sharing the stage with friends and their tunes, and forming side projects for the joy of it.
Myshkin sang songs slamming industrialists, segregationists, meat purveyors and warmongers. (Her) affinity for traditional acoustic music blessedly free of rhetorical excesses. In Joshua Tree, Myshkin found some amazing players, and the space to circle back around to theater, the pursuit of her school years. She began to manifest the theatrical visions that were appearing.
The resulting productions from 2016—2019 include: three Royal Rabble Circus productions, Potion:Warning Signs, Rosebud Redux, Fresh:Research /Jazz, Trust.Together, and themed festival performances incorporating dance and poetry/narration. The goal, always: a more multi-leveled communication, context, depth and delight.
